Pak Mahfud heran bukan kepalang karena tukang becak yang ia temui tersebut mampu menyekolahkan anak-anaknya hingga menjadi sarjana. "Masak cuma itu saja pak?" timpal Mahfud karena masih penasaran, Sambil berharap ada rahasia lain yang disimpan oleh tukang becak tersebut.

Karena terus didesak, Akhirnya tukang becak itu pun membongkar rahasianya.
"Sejak saya belum menikah, masih muda, saya selalu membaca sebuah doa pak" ungkapnya.
"Maaf Pak, Kalau saya boleh tahu, seperti apa doanya?" tanya Mahfud semakin penasaran.
"Anu pak, doanya sih sebenarnya pendek saja. Lha wong saya saja sebenarnya masih awam agama." kata si tukang becak tersebut sambil malu-malu.

"Panjang dan pendeknya doa itu sebenarnya tidak masalah, Pak.  tapi doanya itu seperti apa ya pak?" kata Mahfud semakin tak sabar ingin tahu doa tersebut.

"Begini pak. Setiap kali saya mengayuh becak, di setiap kayuhan, saya selalu membaca La Wala Wala Kuwata, nggih mung kados mekaten pak (iya, hanya itu saja pak)" jawab tukang becak polos.

Mendengar penuturan tukang becak tersebut. Mahfud MD yang pernah mengenyam pendidikan di pesantren langsung termenung, ia paham bahwa doa yang dimaksud tukang becak tersebut itu adalah bacaan Hauqalah dengan lafadznya 'La haula wa quwata illa billah' (Tiada daya upaya kecuali karena Allah )
Hanya karena tukang becak tersebut tak pernah belajar mengaji, maka ia hanya mampu mengingat bacaan itu dan melafadzkan semampunya seperti yang pernah ia dengar.

Tapi bayangkan, Betapa Allah memang Maha Pemurah dan Maha Pemaaf bagi semua hambaNya, kata Mahfud. "Bahkan sebuah dzikir yang keliru pun dikabulkan olehNya." Tutup Mahfud MD dalam ceramahnya.
